The primary objective of ShrinkageComp Plus is to offer its products in a manner that exhibits user friendliness while maintaining high quality and consistency. This is our objective for manufacturing, marketing and providing technical services in the general field of concrete, and in particular shrinkage compensating concrete (SCC) made with CompCon. We recommend that prior to any project that requires the placement of SCC, a pre-placement meeting be held. Optimal timing for this meeting is one or two weeks prior to the placement. At this meeting all parties can express their individual parameters relative to the placement. Items normally discussed are testing procedures, specifications, quantities, transit times, necessary labor, curing, and any other relative factors to the specific circumstances of the project. A representative from ShrinkageComp Plus or its affiliates will attend this meeting, if necessary. Normally the engineer, general contractor, concrete contractor, ready mixed producer, testing laboratory, pumping company, and the owner’s representative, are present. A representative from ShrinkageComp Plus, Inc. can be available at site at the initial concrete placement of any project using its products. The site visit will be for the purpose of giving technical assistance in the use of its materials, and successfully achieving the desired results. ShrinkageComp Plus, Inc. is flexible in its abilities to package its products. CompCon is available in bags, 5 or 6-gallon pails, one-ton super sacks, and 40-50,000 lbs. net bulk tanker. ShrinkageComp Plus, Inc. can vary the weight of its packaging in the bags, and/or pails, in order to meet requirements of its customer. In this manner there need never be concern about the weighing of materials at the ready-mix plant, or site, to obtain the proper amount in the mix. A specific number of bags or pails, pre-packaged to the desired weight per cubic yard of concrete, would be added to the mix making the dosage a quality controlled factor. Needless to say, no matter how good the quality and consistency is of our products, good field concreting practices must be adhered to in order to assure the proper results. ASTM-C-878 testing should be done initially to assure the restrained expansion (RE) required. In-field testing may also be accomplished using ASTM-C-878, or a simple verification of expansion may be made at the site using a simple plastic cup test (see details of this under “testing”). Good concrete manufacturing, placing, finishing, and curing are all parts of a quality project. | Return Home | Products | Projects | What's New | Our Services | Contact Us | |
